Disc Brake Pad upgrade

Hello Everyone,
I'm looking for suggestions for front disc brake pads for my 2013 f 150. I have a set of custom wheels that get brake dusted pretty bad and quick too, and there are so many brands and types I was wondering what has worked for everyone. Thanks in advance.

I usually use the high option from Napa and see very little dust from them.

Also while I'm here: Sometimes front pads dust a lot because the rear brakes aren't doing anything or very little. Have you checked operation of the rear brakes?

I liked Hawk LTS pads.

PowerStop, I had VERY bad experiences. Junk. And their techs and "support" should all be fired.

I am hoping (hearing?) they changed their supplier.

Within 3k miles, my pads became noisy. I pulled the wheels and the slots were filled with hardened brake dust. Many of the holes were nearly the same. I reached out to them multiple times, emails and one call.

Finally heard back from them and the answer was, "Won't help you. Our warranty only covers you if you had an ASE certified mechanic install."

I did eventually try another set, with rebuilt calipers from them, but sold the truck too quickly to know how that turned out.

Power Stop, LLC Limited Warranty

POWER STOP ROTORS AND PADS ARE FOR STREET AND RECREATIONAL OFF-ROAD USE ONLY. THEY ARE NOT DESIGNED OR APPROVED FOR OFF-ROAD RACING OR COMPETITIVE DRIVING. FAILURE OF COMPONENTS USED FOR ANY TYPE OF RACING IS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY.

POWER STOP BRAKE KITS (Z16, Z23, Z26, Z36, AND Z37 PERFORMANCE KITS EXCLUDING CALIPER KITS), PURCHASED AND INSTALLED AS A KIT

If a customer is not satisfied with the quality and performance of a kit for any reason within 60 days of the invoice date or the installation date by a professional technician (an invoice from the installation shop is required), and the required break-in procedure was implemented, Power Stop LLC will provide a one-time exchange of the kit for a new one. This no-questions-asked, 60 day warranty must be facilitated by the authorized Power Stop retailer.

Powerstop

On my truck i didn`t have the rotors replaced just the pads ( Z36 not Z 23 like i posted before). The truck had new pads put on by the dealer i bought it from used . A lot of dust and squealing from those ones. Put on the powerstops based on recommendations from the shop i use and a friend. At the December safety inspection no issues with brakes.

Now I have an expedition currently, but only use power stop slotted and cross drilled rotors and Centric ceramic pads. I don't have any brake dust, and way less fade than conventional pads. I got mine from Rock Auto, cheaper than anywhere else... Just my $.02 but you would like them more than the standard OE pads and you won't have dust.

I've had great luck with the PowerStop Extreme Truck and Tow pad and rotor kit I put on my truck. Very little dust and great braking power. One thing you have to remember with PowerStop brakes is you have to do the bedding process they detail in their instructions, otherwise you might get vibrations from the pad material sticking on the rotors.

I've got 4 years 30K miles on my current powerstops, I'm hard on them and about to swap out for another set. Current set is starting to vibrate at high speed braking. Given how I treat them I feel they have done well.

This Exactly ^^^^^^
Me too & mine have been installed on my F150 since September 2016
I've installed Powerstop's on numerous other vehicles in my family & have never had an issue with any of them.

I'm about to swap out my original pads too, at almost 87000 miles (I'm not hard on brakes, and I do haul with the truck) , and no brake dust issues at all. I'm really thinking about going back to OE pads. If I use aftermarket pads, I'll use Wagner ceramic pads.

I used the Powerstop stuff on my wife's Accord; they're okay. Once my front brakes started to shimmy, I swapped over to Wagner rotors with Motorcraft pads. It has been fantastic since.

I have all the Powerstop stuff in my Friends body shop scrap pile, heat checks between the holes and about 3/4's of the holes filled with hardened brake dust.Vibrated and squealed until the day I took them off.
They were on the truck when I got it and I replaced the pads when I got it to my house and those made it about 12000 miles and were replaced with StopTech Slotted and I have been problem free for 35,000 miles
