This is driving me crazy.About eight months ago I replaced the front brake rotors and disc pads with semi metalic.Everytime I step on the brakes the squeal is so loud you can her me coming two blocks away I even tried those ceramic pads and still the same thing.Anyone have any suggestions, does anyone still make non metalic pads.
I got rid of my brake sqeak by using some brake quietener (its a red or blue goopy paste I found at my local parts store). As long as the brakes aren't worn out, you just apply apply the goop to the back of the brake pads and re-apply them. I did that about eight months ago (after my brakes started sqealing just four months after replacing my pads), and so far so good.
If the above doesn't work, try deglazing the rotors and pads. I had the same problem and sanded the rotors, pads, and now brake silently. It made a huge difference.
I don't understand how the squealing would stop but using brake quietener on the back of the pad,I thought that stuff was just for preventing rattling of the pads in the caliber. Can someone explain this to me.
