Hello all. I found a lot of useful help from this site with my last problem, so I figured I'd try again. I've been tracing down a stalling issue with my 2003 Ford Excursion (V10). I've decided that while I have everything apart, I might as well do some cleaning. I would like to clean the idle air control since the throttle body looks pretty cruddy. I would also like to replace my fuel pressure regulator. Both of these would be SO much easier to get to if I remove the entire throttle body. Has anyone ever removed this? It looks like it's help on by 3 bolts and one more that holds a bracket. Is it that simple?

I think it is, there's a PCV hose on the back, air inlet hose clamp, cruise control cable, throttle cable and a wire connector for the TPS.
The base gasket might need to be replaced.
Check the throttle bore under the butterfly for gunk, too.
I just replaced my intake gaskets so throttle body was part of it. There are 4 bolts holding the TB on, plus the 2 holding the cable bracket on, pull one of the cables out of the bracket to get to the front bolt. Get a new TB gasket and some TB cleaner. There was 1 electrical connector on the back and 4-5 vacuum lines.
Mine was caked with oil so I replaced the PCV valve. I also had to mop out the intake manifold because there was probably 6oz of oil in there.
This guys channel is pretty good. He did a few on fixing a 5.4 throttle body (same thing basically) and will answer any questions you ask on his videos. Only thing I don't like about his videos is his voice :/
