5W40??? Or 10W30
Just want to touch base with you guys see who's running 5 W 40 versus the recommended 10 W 30 , any reason why you switch to the 5 W 40 and he concerns that you had let me know also what brand are you using?

I think you intended to say 5W-40 verse 10W-30.
10W-30 HDEO that meets current CJ4+ or CK spec is normal fill, Ford states 5W-40 full synthetic (which all the 5W-40’s are) for severe service or bio-diesel.
Don’t run any FA spec oils.
You really can’t go wrong either way - oil analysis has shown the engine does well on both. I run 5W-40 year round myself.

Factory fill is 10W-30. At 5K miles I started using 15W-40 Motorcraft for towing in hot weather. I run it year round living in the South. In colder climates the 5W-40 would be a better choice.

5W-40 year-round for me (primarily cold weather and towing). Might as well have it and not need it, then need it and not have it...

Also worth pointing out a 0w40,5w40 and a 15w40 are all the same thickness at 100cst. There was another thread with some bad information and someone really believed 15w40 was thicker than 5w40
