When I got my truck I decided to change the oil and replace 3 gallons that was in the pan with rotella t5 15w40...my question is when I drop the filter is it ok to go to rotella T6 5w40 instead of rotella t6 15w40
I like to drain the HPOP then refill it while the filter and plug are off letting the 'extra' oil flow down. And fill the oil filter before installing it.
I've changed two to Rotella 5-40 and they do start better than on 15-40. Mine has sticky injectors so it was more obvious.

Has Schaeffer Supreme 9000 5W40 fallen out of favor? I left the forum for awhile and Triax is all everyone talks about when I got back.
EDIT for brain fart on oil volume. Thank you for the correction Hussler. My memory was one quart shy of 4 gallons, and then I went and did some bad math.
So running T6 15-w40 wont affect my engine on 6.7 i usually run T6 5-w40 but i 15-W4O is all i could find anywhere checked all my local stores O'Reilly advanced auto and auto zone walmart etc
