Hey all. I have a 2018 CC PSD Lariat Ultimate. My trade in was a suburban. I travel a lot and with the burb, as soon as I got off the plane, I would remote start it with onstar and it was nice and warm/cool by the time I got there. What are my options with this rig? Given that it's a PSD, it takes even longer to warm up and with global cooling, these pacific northwest winters aren't getting any warmer. I checked out HUM via verizon online and they just got hammered with negative reviews. Any other options? Has anyone tried the extended range antenna for your existing key fob?
I have used viper smart start, GM onstar, and now I just got the Fordpass SmartLink added to my 18 superduty. I it runs on Verizon network, which in my area is a plus. Verizon has the best coverage for remote areas here. YMMV
The fordpass smartlink gives you a bunch of information compared to the other ones I have had. I've only had it for a week or so and so far the only complaint I have is starting the truck is kind of buried in the fordpass app. I wish it had a shortcut for just starting it.

So, it is the HUM by verizon. or something you get right from Ford? thanks

It comes directly from ford. My local dealer did the install. On the 18's it requires at least one module to be installed, depending your trim. I believe on the 19's the module is included already.

Hmm. My local dealer said they heard there's an app called Ford Pass but that's all they know. Guessing I better call around and find someone who's installed this before. Thanks for the intell.

If you can locate the modules, I believe the 2018 is backward compatible with Ford Remote Access. After the module expense, I pay $49 per year USD for the app. A Canadian company apparently does the app and automatically does the exchange rate on credit card so I've paid $39.99 the past 2 years.

Poncho,
Do you know what I need for the modules? I have some connections at Ford, so I can likely locate them if there are any to be had.

It's been a long time since I installed mine and I no longer have the part numbers written down anyplace. I would jump online and contact Bobby at Banner Ford in Louisiana or the parts department at Fairway Ford in Ohio. They've both been a great help to me with these modules and the dealer activation end in the past, as I've installed on the 2016 that I used to have and my current 2017. I'll try an to search old threads I've posted in in the meantime.
hmmm. I don't know. I have a Lariat Ultimate. I have Sync.
If your vehicle has SYNC Connect which means it has a built in modem, you`re able to start your vehicle via your cell phone. If you don`t have SYNC Connect, look into the Ford SmartLink.
SmartLink will give you many if not most of the features of SYNC Connect and the service will be through Verizon.
I think Ford changed the name starting in 2019 to FordPass Connect instead of SYNC Connect.
I couldn't search back far enough in posts that I've been involved in. I did however find an old eBay listing from Fairway Ford. Looks like OEM Remote Access Smartphone Start and Security System Kit. Part number shown are 19A361 and 19A390.

and for our MY18 trucks, this is a module that plugs into the ODB port with a piggyback cable to the actual module.
