Tossing around the idea of throwing a small LED bar behind my fender vents while I have them off to paint. Thought maybe a subtle light / glow on the emblem might look kinda cool at night!?
I'm sure I'll get lynched for even asking...but I'll do it anyway! Are the holes actually there for ventilation purposes or more form over function? I don't want to block any airflow with a small LED bar if it NEEDS the ventilation.
Anyone else already do this mod? Where did you tie into for power? I tried the SEARCH feature but lets be honest...the SEARCH feature BLOWS on this forum! It rarely returns any "hits" even when I KNOW there are posts related. TIA
(not my emblem...stole from the GOOGLE machine for reference)
The vents are completely cosmetic, there's quite a few members that have done this already. You just need a 12v LED and you can wire it up to your running lights so they come on with your lights automatically. I would suggest a COB type LED. Most I think have put theirs on this side of the vents since its easier to mount them that way, but I like the idea of them being mounted behind.
Something like this is probably your best bet for longevity. I have these mounted under the frame rails in the bed of my truck, they are pretty dang bright and take almost no power at all.
