Keep all the tires on the ground and lock the hubs with the transfer case in 2wd. Try to spin the front driveshaft by hand, it shouldn't spin if it does then you have a hub issue. Then unlock the hubs and make sure the driveshaft turns freely. Then put the transfer case in 4x4 with the hubs unlocked and try to turn the front driveshaft, it shouldn't turn if it does then your transfer case isn't engaging. Also does your 4x4 light come on?
i’d try this as confirmation but what you’ve tried and found so far points to needing hubs. Now you’ll feel better spending the money knowing it’ll fix your issue and you’re not just throwing expensive parts at a problem. All that with just a few extra minutes.
I have been watching this post... I don't want to threadjack this, but I am changing out my OEM auto lockers for Warn manual lockers. What is the best way to cap off the vacuum lines for the auto locking hubs?
Can I pull the fuse for the vacuum assembly (9H465) itself? Should I pull the line off the hubs and put a physical cap over them? Can I disconnect the line as some point in the line harness itself?
