Ford remote start/keyless system

https://accessories.ford.ca/electron...try-alarm.html

has anyone had any experience with this remote start system? I’m thinking it might be the easiest way forward to get keyless entry on my 2013 that the dealer will actually be able to do. I’d rather not go aftermarket as I’ve found those systems to be clunky at best on other cars we’ve owned.

thank you

I have a Viper keyless entry / remote start on my 92' and it works flawlessly, just my $.02

If you bought the system shown in your link the dealer you mention above won't be able to install it either. You don't need to add anything, you simply need to have someone access the PCM and switch on the feature. This can be done through FORScan but unless you can locate the particular software module that needs rewritten within the PCM I don't know trial and error is the best way to DIY this.

yep I got a forscan cable and plan to take a look at it to see if I can find an obvious part to switch. I’ve found guides talking about the setting on other vehicles and it’s just changing a 0 to a 1.
I’m hoping I can find someone who has done this. I’ve found old posts where people have but they don’t specifiy exactly what they did in forscan.

Somewhere there exists a spread sheet of the Ford modules describing what does what and how to effect a change---to date I don't know where those can be found. I'd love to find such a thing as I have an '05 and '06 with the CANbus systems I'd like to "adjust". Maybe not too helpful but an interesting backyard tutorial about FORScan:
It's a bit raw and seat-of-the-pants approach but far better than nothing.
