Just installed a 12 Volt solutions remote start kit. All was OK for about a minute then the entire dash went blank including all gauges and Sync 3. Head lights wont turn off. Took the kit completely out and still no dash lights, door locks just stopped working. Cycle the battery by disconnecting and still nothing. Any ideas?
Well, I blew the instrument cluster fuse. After replacing the fuse I installed the remote start again, and blew the fuse again. This is why we buy two fuses. I will be in touch with them on Monday and get a new unit. Just kind of freaks you out when you just spent 60K and something goes wrong.

Amen. My truck didn't come with remote start and in a fit of panic (because remote start is a high priority for me) I ordered the 12volt kit with programmer. Installed it the day I got my truck and I was pretty on edge while I did it, but it worked. Then I started having oddball issues with it not always starting. At that point I'd spent way more time reading on here and gotten into FORScan so I bought the OEM ford remote start module and the remote access kit, installed that instead and programmed with FORScan. Now I have the same lock/unlock/lock start with the fob and the ability to do It on my phone. My point is - you aren't the only one that's had issues with the 12volt kit. When I called for some tech support the guy actually said "yeah man I don't know, you're on your own on this one". That kind of pissed me off.
I have now the 12 volt solutions kit... Its not reliable. I had the ford one and sent it back cause I couldn't figure out why I couldn't lock, unlock, lock my truck. Turns out it was my led cab lights causing interference with my fob... But before I found this out I sent it back and ordered the 12 volt kit I have now... Not happy with how it doesn't always start and when it does... It takes a, while before it does.. I dont feel I should be staring out the window waiting for it to start... Defeats the propose I did write to them about it... And they are gonna send me another unit out.. Hopefully it helps
If not I'll send it back...

Lol.......I think you should cut your losses and take this as a sign to not use this kit because the repair on your vehicle only cost you a couple of dollars for two fuses.
What`s going to happen if you put another one in and instead of blowing a fuse, it kills something more vital and expensive like an ECM or PCM. ,,,
I know others have had luck with this kit but perhaps you`re not going to be one of those.......think about it.
It is a proven kit, its no different than any other aftermarket install we do........some have had problems with led lights for example. Some work and some do not, there is always a risk.

Which kit? Sorry not trying to be uneducated. Just trying to find the best working kit... I just rewired the cab lights to the headlights... The 12 volt kit I have still has a big delay in the reaction time it takes to start... Sometimes as much as 30 seconds... I been counting lately... And other times it just won't fire.. No matter how fast or slow I input the sequence Even standing right beside it.
Thank you. . My fault for even messing with it... Lol

Thanks for the words of wisdom. I am sending it back, and hopefully I get a full refund and if I don't then I will put a stop pay on the credit card. I am pretty sure they wired something wrong, and it's not worth it trying again. I know this kit works great for some, others I hear about the delay in starting and other issues. Ford builds the trucks the same, but it appears 12 volt solutions may not. Try at your own risk.

Got my replacement kit today. Installed in 10 minutes with no problems. Thank you to the folks at 12 Volt solutions on getting out a new kit to me so fast.
