I was hoping someone could help with an engine swap scenario and let me know if it's possible...
I have a 1978 High Boy and I was wanting to put a 302 engine out of a 94 f150 into in (got a good deal on a rebuilt motor). Will this bolt up to my 4 speed 4x4 tranny (has granny if that matters)?
I know I will need to swap to an electric fuel pump and swap the intake to a carb version, but I'm mainly concerned if it will bolt up.

I have a 1978 High Boy No you don't.
High Boys are Regular or Crew Cab: 1967/76 F250 4WD, 1977 F250 4WD before serial number Y20,001. High Boys have an in-cab fuel tank and a divorced Transfer Case.
1977 F250 4WD's assembled from serial number Y20,001, 1978/79 F250 4WD's are not High Boys. Have a married Transfer Case, no in-cab fuel tank.
Excepting 1969/77 Bronco, 302 not available with 4WD until 1980.

Do you have a bellhousing? What engine was in there before? If it was a 300 and the bell is still there, you're in luck. Not sure about motor mounts though. You might need a one-of-none version of those...

If you're wanting to throw a carb setup on the '94 engine, you will also need a Duraspark distributor. And if the '94 engine is a roller cam engine, you will need a steel driven gear for your distributor. I'd rather see you make the Ford ignition work, rather than throw a bulky HEI on it.
The engine in the 94 is a 302 Windsor. You have a 351 Modified. Those are completely different engine families, so the 94 engine won't bolt up to your transmission.
