I am swapping a 1991 Mustang 5.0 motor into a 1972 Ford f250 4x4. I am not using the engine controls or the fuel injection, simply installing a new manifold and carb. My question is if anyone has experience with this type of swap and knows the compatibility of manual distributers that will take the place of the TFI distributor the engine has now. Is there a simple aftermarket distributor I can buy and drop right in with the existing cam and be on my way?
Any other tips you may have about this type of swap? I know, I know, you are thinking I should be swapping for a big block, but I have this engine in my garage and it will provide plenty of horsepower + fuel economy to meet my needs.
