Remote Access 2018

2018 6.2L Lariat. Really want to see if I can get Remote Access on my truck and be able to start it with the app from anywhere. I've searched a few threads but am a confused as to what the truck should be configured with. I do have remote start through the fob. What else do I need to determine if it's capable/available? How do I determine if I have Sync 2 or 3.0? Does that matter? W

First, you have to find a dealer that was selected to sell the remote access. Then have in "installed" and do all the software updates and enable it. From what I could tell is you got 1 month of the free wifi, it requires a separate subscription, if you already have Verizon, it wasn't too bad price wise to add it to your plan. if you don't have Verizon, it was about $70 a month, this is NOT required to have the remote access.
The "kit was about $500 to $700, but included two (or 4?, cant remember) years of the plan that gets you the remote access.
It was just too much to me for just being able to start the truck from your phone.
You should be able to find the remote access tech support phone number that will get you what dealers can sell the kit. Be warned, a lot of the people at the dealer will not know what you are talking about. try both service AND parts

Thanks for the info. I thought I remember reading people buying the modules and installing it themselves and then going to the dealer to activate. Is that the case? If so, does anyone have the part numbers?

I ended up being able to use the SmartLink on the truck. Installed yesterday. I found the information from the thread below.
