OK, so again I have a check engine light. This time it is a DTC P24C6 which has to do with the particulate matter sensor temperature circuit. I called the dealer and he can't get it in until the 29th of Jan. Here's the issue. I have to make a 200 mile road trip with a car trailer to pick up a truck in Lincoln Nebraska early next week. I asked the dealer if this code will cause a reduced power/speed issue if not corrected before the trip. He doesn't know so if I take off and have this issue out in the middle of nowhere I am not going to be happy.
So, has anyone here had this problem and would know if I will wind up with reduced power or speed? Since it seems like every other issues I have had dealing with the dpf and its system has caused the reduced power I can't count on this not doing it also.
Just for an update. It finally went into the dealer on Monday and was returned Friday. They replaced the sensor but when they tried to remove it they damaged the threads. I wound up with a new muffler and tailpipe. It appears that the sensor seized in the threads and there isn't any to remove it without damaging exhaust system. So now I have a nice new shiny tailpipe.

did the dealership cover this as an emissions warranty, or did you have to pay out of pocket?

Just got a check engine light and when I checked it, it shows the P24C6 "particulate matter" error. Have it going into the dealer tomorrow morning, and from all I've read, it sounds like an emissions warranty item that shouldn't be that difficult to repair.
Hope I'm right....

Well bummer... Dropped the truck off this morning and the dealer called back in 30 minutes saying it was the Diesel particulate matter filter and with parts and labor it was going to be $750 and not covered under warranty. I double checked and the emissions warranty goes for 5 yrs or 50,000 mile, whichever comes first. Truck is a 2015 with 77,000miles - crap, out of warranty. Just hoping now they don't bust any of the mounting studs or bolts when replacing it.
PS- this part is $1600 at Autozone.
Oh well, only thing we've had to do to the truck so far, so I guess that's a win.
