Excursion Conversion-Sheetmetal and Axel
Im still contemplating changes to mine. '05 front? What wheels....turbo stuff.....I need a pass door.....rebuilding front axle from my donor 250.....so much to do, so little money!
05 was the first year of the coil front end. All excursions were leafed.
The turbo is stock, just rebuilt. Unless one was going to do heads, the stock turbo is safely capable of 600+ hp with the right set up and tune.
The sheet metal is 2016 F250.
You can get a good look at the wheels and tires.
Used clear gloss bra to pop the decal.
I want to first say I hope everybody is safe and well. My family and I are doing great and thank G-D I still have a job as does my wife. I am in the Hospitality construction industry and most of the people I know are unemployed at this point.
So here is the Ex that is 90% complete they just applied the exterior graphics on both sides in a clear bra material which looked better than the flat black.
Should be out of the body workshop in the next few days having just the interior put back together.
as soon as the bumpers and everything gets installed I'll be doing a better photo upload but I just wanted to check in with everybody.
Again, these are really hard times and whatever your situation is know that there is a power greater than yourself out there that you can rely on.
Front bumper installed. This was a full custom build by Mayhem Metalworks. Has a 18,000 lb. Smitty wench.
I really dig the lines. They nailed exactly what I asked for.
Lights on!
Headlights are better than I thought they would be. The dual LED halo just looks amazing.
These are plastic and cost $150 a pair The aluminum CNC billet was $350.....
220db airhorn.... It's soooo loud.
Rear bumper with dual swings. Gonna mount 2 24" underbed toolboxes over/under. Flat black bottom hinges so I have work tables.
I'll still in awe. This looks so sick!
Still working on the wiring. SwitchPro, kill switch, and additional gages.
Looking good. I looked at ALOT of rigs before I finally started buying parts. I am sooooo close to getting it back, its been in the shop for over a year.

On the 20 mile drive home all hell broke lose.
Started throwing codes on turbo, injectors and P1000, not sure what this was.
Ordered a Sinister stage 2 turbo, ordered Sinister injectors. 1 step above stock.
The turbo intercooler was opened up at the seems. Ordered a Mishimoto.
Ordered a Mishimoto radiator. Also ordered an injection pump and cold air intake.
Since I did not change the HPOP when I did the motor 3.5 years ago, also ordered one.
Already have a BPD FICM installed.
Either the turbo over pressurized the system or it was a result of the accident, either way I'm not happy but I'll have the best Ex I can for under $50K all in.
I saw a few similar Ex's for sale for more money but were not near as nice.
When I wet to the mechanic shop all the guys came out and were very impressed. The front bumper was my design, as well as the tires wheels color decals and dash. Felt good that so may others liked it
Had to ship all to my Texas home and then forwarding to my California home. Should be completed in 2 weeks or so.
Just finished with new Sinister/FASS fuel system.
also replaced the turbo, injectors and 5" exhaust.
Now working on the rooftop tent from South Africa with a 270 awning.
I'll upload pics in next 2 weeks of the finished product.
