2.0 Engine Performance

I have a 1985 Ranger S with a 2.0 carburated engine. Is there "anything" I can do to increase it's performance. It's the slowest thing on the road. I thought about putting in a 4:11 ring and pinion but thats more that I want to get involved with. I don't want to go the V8 swap because that's too much. I just want a little more get up and go. A little quicker from 0-50. Maybe a better carb or something. A few thoughts would be appreciated. I like the engine as it seems like it would run forever.

Hi Herman,

Another place you might try your question is the FI, Carburation and Fuel System Forum ...they seem to know a lot about the "older" carbs over there.
