Trying to build a F-350 XLT DRW and I like the black running boards that come with the xlt package but I would love to get them the extended length. Is there a way to upgrade them to the extended length without going to the chrome step ?
If you really want extended, the order will probably force you to the chrome package, depending on trim.
If I were you, do what I'm doing for my son...
Im taking my chrome steps off, pulling off the step pad inserts, wrapping them in magnetic-colored Mylar, (you can choose black), cutting out the insert holes (slots), and reassembling. The Mylar will adhere very well to cleaned chrome, won't scratch easy, and won't rust from stone chips like the painted boards will eventually. Replacement of the Mylar is cheap compared to repainting every few years... if stone chips bother you.
