Thanks everyone for your responses. I finally ordered it from Amazon as there was none in stock at Home Depot or Lowes and the delivery time would have been further out than Amazon. I should receive it tomorrow. I'll let you all know how it works out.

Thanks

I am going the B&W route.. Don't have to remove the bed, and my friend who owns an RV dealership gives them high marks..

The bed on these trucks weighs only around 100 lbs or less. Two people can easily lift the bed off by hand.

That's right, have done it with 4 to lift though, only makes it easier and safer.

Man no way would I ever again have a 4x2 truck and a fifth wheel. My last truck 4x2 f350 DRW was absolutely worthless on anything other then a paved road. If you ever have to park in the grass with your fifth wheel dont plan on leaving until 11am when all the dew is gone. Boondock, nope cant do that. Want to camp on BLM land Nope, to much grass. Had to get a fellow camper pull me 3 miles out of the Badlands in South Dakota because the road out was grass/dirt and wet (not flooded, not even muddy..just wet). Every time we would unhook thinking the road looked good enough, nope the dually just spins. He had to pull me all the way back to the gravel road.
I loved that truck and would still have it today if not for the 4x2

The only time I had to put my truck in 4X4 while towing my 5th wheel was when I was trying to back up a steep hill on grass. I've never needed 4X4 while boondocking or driving down dirt roads with the 5th wheel. In fact, one of my favorite places to camp requires a 6 mile drive up a very steep dirt road with numerous switchback turns. I've hauled my 5th wheel up that road with two different trucks without needing 4X4. I'd be curious to know why you had such an issue towing with a 4X2 DRW truck.

I can’t tow my Reflection 337RLS across my friend’s pasture with areas of dirt and soft wet grass unless I put it in 4WD.

I also need to drive through a dirt road unloaded, , where the dirt is loose in some spots. Without 4WD I would bog down and not make it through. When 4WD is activated it handles these events very well.

There’s no way we could have moved our RV off this area in the picture below, after a rain without 4WD.

The bed weighs more than 100lbs but 2-3 in shape guys can get it moved around.

As far as 2wd, never again unless I disconnect the traction control!! There is no way it should be that intrusive.

I have owned 4 Ford F-350 DRW's. All were 4x2 but also had LSD. Never a problem towing 5th wheel horse trailers or 5th wheel dump trailers. went where I wanted to go off the pavement.
Parking areas at horse events are always on grass and sometimes wet, no issues. In fact I never gave it a thought till now.
I also would be curious to know why you had such an issue.

When I ordered my current truck, I got the locking axle. I've only had to use it once or twice. It's nice to be able to turn it on and off with just the press of a switch.
