I'm having this same problem, but with a 22 superduty and the back of the OEM LED headlights look nothing like the picture posted above. The back of the assembly is solid plastic. Looks like this was changed for 2020-2022 so I am must be really screwed.

What a truly terrible design. Fingers crossed warranty will cover replacement.
