Hoping somebody on here can straighten me out... What's the deal with the engine mounts for the 4.2 liter. They don't seem to be available anywhere.
Trying to narrow down a high speed shake on my STX, and I'm thinking it's time to check the mounts out. I went looking for a set of them, for when I crawl under the truck.
And, nobody seems to have them. I admit, I haven't actually pulled everything apart to get a good look at what's there. But, on other trucks I didn't mess around with inspecting old mounts.
I just changed them. Is there something different about the way the 4.2 is mounted in the truck?
Another reason I think I've got a problem with the mounts, is that I found the factory hoist bracket (on the passenger side) snapped off and laying on top of the exhaust manifold/ AC box.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance!
Hopefully not 'preaching to the choir' but almost all speed-related vibrations are wheel/tire related. You're more likely to hear clunking noises from a motor mount when hitting the gas.
