Good evening Oregon Ford fans! Not much new here.... Oh wait, we had at least two skunks move on to the area. I watched a couple YouTubes and had a plan. I dispatched one of them, didn't go as well as the YouTube video, but not that bad either. The problem is that he sprayed the tarp and the ground I assume that I was covering him up with. I proceeded to walk in it so now my boots smell like skunk. And everything by the pole barn and chicken house also smells like skunk. I'm thinking couple years and we won't even notice it!
One more to deal with, I have another plan! I hope it works out better!
Place one round at the base of the skull which will sever the spinal column. You will have 30 seconds to a minute to do something before the muscles relax and the scent begins to slip out....in short, grab and run fast and throw as hard as you can towards the unliked neighbors....
My uncle always said to grab them by the tail, get their rear feet off the ground - they can't launch unless the rear feet are on the ground. Then run to the creek and drown them....
However my most favorite method:
Telling my sister to use the 20 gauge that's in the gun safe at the farm and its up to her to haul it off - don't call me.
Skunk perfume will penetrate anything including heavy duty contractor plastic garbage bags - one placed inside another all placed inside a 3rd one. Do not ask me how I know this.
I texted to drown the first one only to find out my trap wouldn't go ask the way in the garbage pail. I have a bigger container for the next one. Anyway sense it wouldn't go all the way under I shot it with my pellet rifle, bad mistake. It sprayed in the water now I have about 30 gallons of scented water.
Morning all, 31 on the way in. No skunks for a while here, But I always just do a good head shot with my old Weatherby 22. I guess I've been lucky cause as long as I bag them in 5 min. I never had them release. Did wait too long once and it was only about 10 min. and it had started to release. Do use 3 bags and you will still get a smell in the can for a while but not bad.
Good Thursday morning Andy and those to follow.
We didn't use the backyard a summer a few years back because I let a skunk sit to long before getting it picked up.

Howdy everyone. Our golf course dog Max the golden retriever got into a skunk last year. He stank for a long time, especially when he got wet. Then this past spring we had a den with a total of 8 skunks on the edge of the course. Those all got taken out.
Max is fond of chasing nutria and squirrels and even cornered a coyote a while back. One nutria tore him up pretty good. Others weren’t so lucky.
Tomato Juice. Vet's and some dedicated pet stores carry a good de-scenting bath solution. Sheep dip was a mighty fine solution as well, but I don't know if you can still get the old fashioned sheep dip.
