Good morning everyone. Busy morning getting kids ready, dropping Mason off at school, running errands. Me and the little boys took mama some coffee at work and then went to Petco for some dog food.
Saw 3 does and 2 fawns, two grouse, and a snake. Had a broadside 15 yard shot at one doe but I’m still holding out for a buck. Tomorrow is the last day of early season and then I have another month of late season in November/December.
Good morning Oregon and everyone everywhere else. Well, like we said before we left, We were going to stay until the Snow flew or the USFS kicked us out of the camp ground. Well, the USFS did not kick us out...
BUT...…...
Made it home ridiculously early in the morning. Took the "long, scenic route" home via La Pine, Newberry Crater, Bend and the Santiam Pass. The Warden's injuries from the Detroit trip at the end of August were bothering her something terrible so it made for extra, unplanned stops. Hitting bumps was excruciating for her. It didn't help any that we were dragging our feet and didn't leave Diamond Lake as early as I was hoping.
Morning all. I haven't been around much since the new job. The long vacation between jobs was awesome and it turned out to be the start of dropping off the innerwebs. While on vacation I had enough to do that I didn't even turn on my PC at home. Stayed off social media since my wife does plenty of that for both of us. I'm working 4 10's these days which makes for long day now that I have to commute. up a 0400 and home at 1830ish. Then with 3 day weekends we have gone camping and whatknot so every day is long. HAHA. This weekend is the first we've been home and we've started working on projects again. I should say the wife has started working on projects. Current project is she's redoing the stairs. We've been talking some and I think our days are numbered up here. We are exploring getting out of the rental business and selling our home to downsize and simplify. We'd move further south closer to my work. Probably land somewhere around Dallas. Wife is from Dallas but I'm not overly impressed other than it's more "affordable". We'll see I guess. I'd like to move to Alsea but that's a no go from her perspective. I'm hoping to get an acre or 2 so we don't have too many neighbors and get a needed shop. Lots going on...
New job is going ok although it was a rough start. Everyday that goes by I find the previous dude didn't do me or my crew any favors. I've got a lot of things to fix and some days it's just overwhelming and don't even know where to start. It's still better than dealing with that darn airport tho.
Jim - I was wondering how the trip was going. Also wondered about snow. We've some trip planned around her projects. Monday holiday's means a 4 day weekend several times a year.
River Wild, I used to live in Alsea, it's a good tourist town but I'd never move back, I've still got a couple friends there but the town itself is bunch of drunks and drama, sorry if I offended anyone who lives there but I dont think they would disagree
HAHA, I think that can be said about many small towns but for me it's more about being out in the country than being in town. I deal with people everyday and when I'm home I like to avoid them. We live 2 mile up a crummy gravel road out in the woods. I'm going to miss it.
