E99 F250 Slow Reverse

Trucks been sitting for a year, had no brake fluid when i got around to getting it back up and running. Checked all fluids added what was low. I bled the brakes twice. When i put it into reverse you feel the truck go into gear but when you let go of the brake it doesn't roll backwards. When you put it into drive it will move forward slowly. if i drive it and let off the pedal it'll come to a slow stop, meaning i'll do 30 and take my foot off the pedal and it'll roll slowly to a dead stop. no smoke from the brakes when i did a test drive.

If you have all the air out of the system, my guess is maybe a hose collapsed or you have a frozen caliper(s).

Maybe jack it up and spin the wheels by hand to see which brakes are dragging?

It can’t hurt. Personally if my truck sat that long I’d pull each caliper regrease the slide pins with high temperatures brake grease regardless of the whether they’re sticking.

Do you have an IR thermometer to check for heat? Start with the wheels and check U-joints if you come OK there.

so i guess it broke loose? when in drive it'll roll forward and now in reverse it'll go backwards with ease and no issues and i drove it about 25 miles, doing 60-70 and it had no issues. calipers and rotors weren't hot or smoking at all.

Glad it's working.

I would still do what Colorado said and grease the slide pins. If there is a little rust beginning it'll only get worse till one locks up on you.

oh i agree. i'm going to just run new lines (look like rust is starting on driver rear) and do new calipers and pads. i redid the rear rotots not to long ago. the truck was "broken" (ex claimed it and so did the shop, for bad compresion) so i pulled the injetors on the bad side replaced it. put new batteries in and it starts perfectly and now drives. so i got some maintence to do. Colorado and AllaboutMPG, you two always seem to find yourselves on my threads saving me haha, so thanks to you two majorly and everyone else who has helped or is helping
