I have a 2008 f-150 fx4 x-cab with only 12k. I recently took it in for inspection with 11k on it, and it passed, no issues. All of the sudden by brakes are squeaky. They only squeak when I am hardly moving and I push the brake pedal in or when I am not moving and I have the truck in drive. They do not squeak when I push the brake pedal in when the truck is in neutral. Anyone ever hear of this or know what could be wrong?
Only when i am lightly on them, maybe there is dirt in there. But now i am hearing a clunk in the rearend when i put the truck in drive or reverse and hit the gas. I will be going to the dealership.
1. dirty rotors/calipers
2. light rust. if it's been raining/snowing, the rotors develop a light rust film each night. the first few times you use them, the rust will get knocked off. but until it does, you get a slight squeal
3. brake wear indicator
