Steering column interchange question
I am wanting to find a steering column, the style that had the gear selector pointer on the column itself, and not as part of the speedometer as my 81 has.
What other years would work?

I don't know what if any factory options exist, but somebody just posted a cheap solution to this problem recently...

Bullnose Enthusiasts - Hello all. Hope this fall has been good to you so far. Wondering if anyone out can hook me up with a shift selector cable or the whole assembly for a 1985 F 250. It?s an obsolete item at Ford now. Thank you, Tom
For $22 bucks, that's a cheap fix.
Then just get a little blank filler plate from a truck with a manual trans cluster, and you can remove the indicator from your existing cluster. Done like dinner.
Unless of course you are truly seeking a factory solution...

The 1975-1991 econoline vans use the same style of column as the 1980-1991 trucks but have the shift indicator on the column, because they still used the 1973-1979 truck gauge cluster. but I do not know how easy they are to swap or if you can.

or are they two different lengths.Econoline column is completely different, will not work in an F series truck.
