Question Steering column question?

I am wanting to know will the steering column out of the 73-79 fit in my truck. Being a 67? I am going to covert my truck to power steering soon as my taxes come in. I do know my column is too long so was wondering do I need the steering column too.
Thanks
Keith

Yes, you can use a later column but 69-77 should be your first choice unless you want a tilt column because the 78/9 columns have a shroud down to the dash and it does not look as clean. You will need a column from a truck with PS but they are quite common in the 70's trucks. Hawkrod

Keith, It will as long as you use the column & gear together from the donor. To address the concern hawkrod raised about the cuff, you can remove the cuff from your current column and weld it to the new one.

Jo when you say column and gear you are refering to the steering gear box right?

Yes Sir Mr. Daddy, The total column lengths are the same from 65 to 79, but with the Ford ps gear the connect point is changed. Kinda like this |--x---| to |---x--| so they need to be moved together.

Jo I got my parts today. The steering wheel pitman arm gear and tie rods. Will my tie rods work off my 67 manual or will I need to change them too?

As long as you move everything together 2wd to 2wd, it should work. I moved everything from a 76 to my 66.
