High mount brake light help
Hi,
Little problem with this 3rd brake light I ordered from Tasca parts for my 99 F-350 and was wondering if anybody else had been down this path.
The truck didn't come with the light from the factory, just the black plastic cover but does have the wiring harness. I unboxed the light and realized it did not come with the two screws need to fasten it to the cab...oops. Then I went outside, took the cover off and realized there actually was nothing for the screws to thread into anyway even if I did have them. Just a square hole on each side that the plastic cover clips into. The light does work...I plugged it in and confirmed that, just don't know where to go about finding this hardware I need. I can sort of picture what they probably look like...I'm guessing it is those clips that have the hole in them to allow self tapping screws to thread in and out, but where I would find these I have no idea. Anybody know?

I dont believe ford sells the plastic inserts any longer. So I'd check LMC truck or your local scrape yard OH also check craigslist or Facebook marketplace for people parting out our trucks. You might get them for free!

went back to look through some old posts... the screws i replaced mine with because they were all rusty were #8 x 1-1/4" Stainless Steel screws... hardware stores sell them in packs of 5 for like $2.. i apparently didnt take any pics of the cab with the assembly out... so will have to wait till im back near the truck...
