Instrument cluster removal?
Answered my own question yesterday. Local Pick-n-Pull had a '92 or '93 Bronco with tach (mine is a '93 150) and removing the shift indicator cable turned out to be simple. At least it was with both top and bottom steering column covers removed to make everything accessible.
Reach in with a finger and flip the cable's end loop off of the shift lever tang.
Remove a 7/32 screw and the cable and retainer fall away from the dash.
Snake it gently around a few wires (such as the shift-lever's "overdrive off" light wiring) and just pull the cluster out like described.
Generally there is enough room and enough slack on the harness to give you plenty of access to the three electrical plugs. One plug on the left gave me some grief, but it eventually came out. Hopefully I did not damage any of the circuit board doing so.
Cleaned it up and is going in my '93 tomorrow hopefully. After I check codes for the CEL.
