Removing gauge cluster??

I bought a 97 Expy a few months back and the gauge cluster seems to have a bunch of very fine dirt inside it making the whole thing look a bit trashy. I went to pull the cover off the cluster to clean things up but I CANNOT get part of the trim off to get the the cluster. I pulled every screw I could find from the piece that wraps around the upper part of the cluster and down the left side where the headlight switch is. Is there a hidden screw in there somewhere? I yanked every visible screw but the panel will not budge on the side where the headlight switch is. Does anyone know how to get this thing off????

Removal of instrument cluster requires the headlight switch to be removed.
Here's full procedure:

1.Remove the headlamp switch
2.Pry carefully to release the four clips and remove the steering column opening cover.
3. Remove the instrument panel finish panel
. A. Remove the bolts.
. B. Remove the instrument panel finish panel.
4. Remove the instrument cluster
. A. Remove the bolts.
. B. Disconnect the three electrical connectors.
. C. Remove the instrument cluster.

To remove headlight switch:
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Turn the headlamp switch **** to the headlamp position and pull the ****.
3. Insert a thin tool to release the headlamp switch **** and remove.
4. Remove the headlamp switch.
. A. Pull headlamp switch from instrument panel.
. B. Disconnect the electrical connectors.

Hope this helps.

Thanks PRCRBOY!

I'll be doing the same thing to get a bulb replaced in the cluster. That's what makes these forums so great!
