I guess I would have to see it to believe it, so says the guy who grew up with sealed beams. The tail light improvement is even more curious to me, is there a problem with people not being able to see the ol 1157's with a red housing? Hopefully someone has a good video.
I may as well say it now...... Get off my lawn! curmudgeon......
I didnt opt for them when ordering my 2019. We rarely drive at night and I thought the lights were overpriced. Maybe I was wrong by passing them up?
Can anyone post a side by side comparison with a SD having the stock lights vs the LED's?
It is a VERY EXPENSIVE option on a Lariat build as it requires dropping the Lariat value package and adding the Lariat Ultimate package:
Adding:
Quad-Beam LED Headlamps/Tail lamps also requires the following changes
Remove Power Equipment Group
LARIAT Value Package
Fog Lamps
$3,825 Net Price Change
Believe it or not, that’s quite a bargain compared to getting the OEM LED lighting on a F150 Lariat. Since 2015, the 502A package has increased every year and it has never been below 5K.
I have them and love them..... In warm weather only. In winter time LED do suck big time because they don't produce heat and they are always full of ice.
I also came from a dodge headlight, and let me tell ya, the Ford LED's are WAY better. It was borderline dangerous in the dodge on a dark night. with the Ford quad beams, I can see really well. I cannot speak for the Ford halogens, but I can tell you the Ford LED's are the best headlamp I've ever owned. I've had Toyotas, Hondas, and a RAM & these are by far the best! Don't think twice, just get them!

I wish I could say the same about Ford halogens. Ford halogens are horrible compared to my last truck (2011 Tundra, also with halogens). How the Ford could be so bad with twice as many bulbs is something I can’t explain. After switching to Beamtech LEDs, mine are now quite tolerable although they fall short of stock LEDs.
My 2017 F350 did not have LEDs. I ordered my 2019 with LEDs and I love them. I drive a 2 hour remote unlit road back and forth to a vacation property. The LEDs are MUCH better than the original factory HIDs
I have the factory LEDs, like the design and performance. Interesting though, I remember seeing a comment in one of the threads that they will build up ice and snow because of the minimal heat output. Anyone ever experienced this?

Yep. Driving in certain conditions (swirling snow, wet snow, freezing rain, etc.) will cause the lenses to ice up. I think driving at highway speeds is worse, but it'll happen driving around town too. LED's just don't develop the heat needed to keep the ice from forming. Although it is a slight annoyance, I will never own another truck without LED's.
