Yes this method works mostly, however it will not actually reset the BMS information. It will not reset the battery in life cycle charge ratio or temperature curve. This will cause short cycles of the charging system and will prompt system shutdown messages sooner than they should happen. Good news if you have forscan or have a dealer do it it's very easy to do the service reset.
