My 2011 F 150, when I shut it down, would continue to play the radio for a few minutes, until I opened the door.
Now, the radio plays for a few seconds, and a message "BATTERY SAVING MODE or similar appears in the radio. What changed?
It's shutting the systems down because you have a low/weak battery. It's part of the battery management system. This is described in your owners manual.
I would get your battery checked and keep a set of jumper cables in your truck, just in case.
Yup, driving it more will certainly help. But if you're going to only drive it a couple of times a month, you might want to pick up a battery tender charger and maintain the battery that way. Worth looking into.
I drive mine every day and I still get that warning more than half the time. Even after a long drive. I'm thinking I either have a drain somewhere or the sensor is faulty. Either way I should probably take it in.
Go buy a Battery Tender...they are about 30 bucks and will float a charge without overcharging. I have one on my bike and my trailer battery.
You can get 'em at a bike/atv place.
Even come with a quick plug connector that you can hang out the underside of your hood.
You don't need a biggy as they are not used to quick charge a battery.
P.S.
Jeeze..sorry ST..I guess I should have read more carefully....
