I have a 2017 i and getting a small wobble when I hit brakes at first. I have 38k miles. How many other replacing that fast? I tow my bass boat a lot but crap it’s only 3500lbs.
With what you describe, I’d be inclined to think rotors rather than pads but anything’s possible. No brake issues on mine but only 12k miles so far. FWIW, the original pads on my previous F250 lasted over 100k miles pulling between 5k and 10k pounds so I’m hoping they didn’t mess with the brake system too much on the new and improved 17+ trucks!
My 07 made 80k mikes before changing pads. I’m guessing it’s rotors as well. I just think it’s crap. I have gotten out and smelled brakes a few times. I wonder if one is sticking
On my past superdutys since 2009 I have not done brakes before 100k. I did the brakes on my 2015 at 117k even though they felt fine and the pads still had plenty of meat left. I am going to guess you have a sticking caliper. I had a buddy with a 2017 that had one at about 20k. same symptoms but got worse quick.
I remember constantly getting rotors turned or replaced on 2000,2003,2004 models. like every 10k.
Yes, the 1999 to 2004 SDs were bad for warped rotors, seized calipers, my 2005 went 172,000 Km, before a failure, the failing point was a back pad and piston braking and letting all the juice out after a panic stop. All other pads down to <10%. I was on my way to get brakes done at my Brothers shop.
I agree, I am at 42,000 Km, and still at 99% brake pads. Either your pads or pins are bound, or your really really hard on the brakes.
If you have a maintenance plan, pads and rotors are included....

Have you had the wheels off? If the lug nuts on aluminum wheels are not properly torqued, it can cause pulsing in the brake pedal that feels like a wobble. Have you submerged hot rotors when launching your bass boat?
