Go to a Ford dealer, ask the parts manager if it can be ordered.
When these were first installed in 1970, they could be ordered, but the owner had to show up in person with a copy of the registration, a police report also had to be obtained to prove the truck wasn't stolen.

I don't know what the procedure is today.
.I called my local Ford dealer and asked them what the procedure would be for getting this replaced. The person in the parts department told me that first I had to bring the truck to them and show proof of ownership, a representative from Ford would be there to view the truck, once he was satisfied with the proof of ownership he would then submit paperwork on his side to Ford. Next a label would be mailed directly to the Ford representative, then I would meet him back at the dealership for him to personally apply the label on my truck. The person in the parts department was unsure of what the cost would be, but when they do that in their body shop the cost to them was $21.95.
Once I'm able to schedule all of this I will post bacc with how everything went.
According to the parts department at my local Ford dealership, the VIN label cannot be ordered or replaced if the vehicle is more than 5 years old. My next route is to go with an aftermarket source, if I can find a body shop that is willing to do so. Again, I will update with my next findings.
Looking forward to update. I know I did one through parts dept. back in the 80's that had B pillar damage. Was less than 5 years old and Ford didn't charge me, imagine it's different now.
