Vibration/Bumming RPM Related HELP!
I have a 1995 Powerstroke Ext Cab 2WD. I drove it an hour today and had smoke coming from under the hood. I opened the hood and it looks like its literally smoking off of the HPOP. Oily residue on Intake boots and other parts. Truck seems to run fine and still making 16 PSI Boost at WOT. Obviously im concerned because a faulty HPOP results in being towed home (yet again). I should also note that the HPOP housing was too hot to touch. Is this normal?
Also have weird vibration/noise that can be heard through all RPM range that changes with the RPM of the engine. Speed does not effect the vibration/noise just RPM.
Replacements and Upgrades made are listed below
HPOP seal kit including non serviceable plug in the summer.
IPR
ICP
Electric Fuel Upgrade (mark fugazotto's)
everything on front of the engine is new (including damper)
injector's rebuilt
new stage 1 E40D 6K ago
EBPV Delete
6637 Intake
Carrier Bearing
CPS Sensor (2 in the glove box lol)
new oil cooler
turbo rebuilt with 360 degree upgrade
trucks odometer when I got it read 380K but I am aware that the PSOM was changed at some point when it went bad according to the owner so I am truly unaware of how many miles the power plant has on it.

Replaced it with https://www.riffraffdiesel.com/fluid...rmance-damper/ and it did not change one iota and of the sound or vibration. The original Damper looked to be in great shape as well no dry rot or slipping on it. I shouldnt have replaced it but I am done throwing parts at it until I can find a more likely culprit at this point.
I am stumped.

Ah, well disregard what I said then. I have the same damper, I love mine. My OEM one was delaminating so I made the plunge!
Are your sensors OEM? I have heard having your PCM flashed to be OBD2 compliant (aka a '96 model or later) makes the truck drive quite a bit better.
Next time I drive my truck, I will check out my HPOP for ya!

I also checked the flex plate for cracks or missing teeth and there is no sign of that either.

my truck has been flashed OBD2 compliant. Sensors are all OEM except ICP. The ICP according to AE is working as it should.

Thanks ill do that tonight of course. I think it may have actually been steam off of the HPOP turns out when I put the radiator hose back on the outlet to the radiator I may not have had the clamp on quite right which may have sprayed anti freeze out while running when the thermostat opened and ultimately got on the block. Ill know on my drive home I refilled my overflow and got the clamp back on correctly. I am still not sure how hot an HPOP could get or should get.

A shot in the dark, but power steering pumps make a noise that fits your description when they get low on fluid.

I changed the power steering pump last weekend to no avail. Turns out some of the vibration was in in fact the drive shaft being out of phase as they say. On my two piece shaft you can have it 180 degrees out of phase. Its enough to cause slight vibration through out the who chassis and cab. So this solved a portion of my vibration which is noticeably less, however, I still have the humming and slight vibration felt in the pedal that appears to be RPM related.
