heater hose fitting

'm working on heater hose connections from the firewall bulkhead fitting to the water pump and intake manifold and have hit the wall.
The inlet for the intake manifold is on the very front of the manifold and within 3/4" of the bypass hose. I'd live to put a 90 degree fitting in
there to make hose install a lot easier but because of the proximity of the bypass hose nothing will turn into the manifold.. I've tried all kinda
combinations of nipples and 90's and can't find a solution...

any suggestions ???

Can you make one of these work? It's about as compact a 90 fitting as you'll find. Perhaps remove the bypass nipple, install the heater fitting, then reinstall the bypass nipple. Did you thread the intake for the bypass nipple? Those, I've found, were a press fit and prone to failure in the aftermarket manifolds. Short of that, you may be looking at a heater hose with a molded in 90 bend.

Wayne, thanks for that... I'll try to find one in 1/2" npt.. You DO know how impossible that bypass hose is to install/remove without removing the water pump, right ?? it is a threaded fitting at the manifold and a short nipple at the water pump. I really REALLY hope that isn't the solution... I'll look for the brass one you showed..

Take a look at street elbows, they will give you a little more clearance from the head

already tried a street elbow... even tried a 1/2-3/8 adapter in the manifold and a 3/8 street elbow.. still hitting the bypass tube... I love when things go together with no problems !!!!!

Looking at your picture, I wonder if removing the bypass fitting, which appears to be straight, would give you the clearance to install the 90?

Another idea. How about two of these, one installed at a time and will give clearance from head
