grrr headlight

2016 Expedition low beam headlight on right not working
replaced the bulb.......still not working
checked fuse....fuse ok

what's left?? The switch?

If you have two separate bulbs, make sure you have power coming to the socket. Stick the bulb in the drivers side just to make it’s good (even though it’s new, it could be bad). The actual socket might be bad too (corroded).

ok bulb tested fine on working side.

with headlight switch on I get 12 volts on one terminal of the plug in
tested ground side and it is a good ground
but plugging bulb back in no luck
head scratcher

took whole assembly out and there's a circuit board inside the assembly.

Going to hook it up to the driver side and see if it works. If not then I know its the circuit board.

$475 replacement yaaay!!!

ok both asseblies work if plugged into driver's side

now the only thing left is the switch

new switch did not fix the problem.
so.......
new bulb
headlight assembly works
fuse is good
new switch

still no passenger low beam
smart junction box maybe?

anyone know where the ground is for the right headlight?

only one fuse on that circuit?

took it to the shop. They bypassed the fuse block with a jumper wire and now the head light works.

two days later every warning light imaginable comes on. Starting to think theres more to this story

The headlights are on the can bus and controlled by the SJB. Bypassing as you have found won't work because it sets faults. If fuses 16,17 and 30 are good then you need to have someone turn the headlights on and off while you listen to the SJB and you should hear the relay also toggle the high beams. If fuses are good and no relay clicks the sjb needs replacement.
