If you see this, yes the intake has a different version of intake runner control.
If not, you should se a round area where the driver motor would be that would drive a long flap valve inside the lower section bolted to the bottom of the upper intake.
It is seldom ever talked about or ever causes a code to set.
My 02 4.6 has this control.
Normally it is closed to force the intake tract into a longer path.
This enhances low end torque up to about 3000 rpm +/- then closes to shorten the path for higher RPM power.
Most of us never get above 3000 rpm in normal relaxed street driving so the runner may never get involved.
My 292000 mile motor pulls hard off idle and really gets with the show above 3200 rpm all the way to over 5000.
I would assume it is working as designed.
