Last week I ordered the OBDLink MX Bluetooth mainly because of the very positive reviews here. I installed the OBD android app on my Samsung S4 and installed the windows program on my surface pro 4. Both installs were straightforward, no problems. I also installed the Torque app with the Ford specific add ons to my phone.
I paired my phone to the OBD MX and also paired my surface pro to it. No problems it seemed. Both programs on the phone will connect and run for several minutes showing good readings on the dashboard gauges. I can also open the windows program on the surface pro and it will run for a few minutes. Then the screens freeze up and the middle flashing LED lights on the OBD stop flashing. When I try to re-connect, it shows a connection error. I have re-booted the ons several times by removing it from the port for a few minutes and also rebooted or restarted my phone, each time getting the same results.
Just don't understand what seems to be causing the freeze up. Anyone run into this issue? I have tried the search function but get so many returns on obd that I can't find anything specific yet. Any help?
