My assumption is Ford engineers would want the most accurate reading.
Thanks for doing all this Tom, I think it will be helpful to many. I know I've been frustrated with the voltage reading off the SG2 compared to voltmeter reading. Years ago I contacted SG tech support if their numbers were valid and I realized I was going over their head. With all the data acquisition equipment we had for testing and had to set the parameters for gain as well as zero point, and how far out on the decimal points you care to go can effect the displayed values.
I had replaced my FICM with a BPD one that is calibrated to 48V. On my SG2, the FMP reads 49V about 99% of the time. At first start up it could fluctuate to 49.5V. Warmed up, it can fluctuate down to 48.5V briefly, but most of the time it is at 49V. Not sure how accurate it is, but the value for FMP displayed is not too much off, for what it's worth.

The OBDII port (DLC) volts are being read through the cluster, which is using volts. I think it only makes sense to read a little lower than the battery terminal volts.
During the discussion with SG tech support their person didn't seem to understand that a gain value can throw off instrumentation. Therefore with these variations Tom is seeing with different monitors it may be the issue is calibration.
After that second frustration (discussion) I realized the majority of the issue on my truck was due to grounding issues, taken care of. But there will always be a discrepancy due to the harnesses and connectivity.
I drive with EOT, FWT, IPR, and Volts displayed on my SGII and fairly frequently, I lose EOT and IPR. Just goes blank. Always both of those. If I turn key off, they come back. Disclaimer, the $^%&$^ clip on the cable connector going into my SGII broke off (cheap) so it's just stuck in there and I have to wiggle it to get it to work.

I had bought addtional SG2 cables from Walmart online a couple of years ago to put into multiple vehicles. Got tired of unplugging all the time. They went for about $10 a piece or so I think. Walmart don't carry them in the store. I think it may be an online seller selling through Walmart.
