As for the darkside, I'm keeping it simple for now. I have the memories I would like to retain and somewhat limited space / funding to work on it.
Thanks for the advice!
I'm in the same boat as you. I'd like to keep my truck like when my Grandfather had it, only not as rusty! And I think staying stock is cheaper than going to the Darkside.
Ha, my father would disown me if I went down that road............
Your father is a wise man. Don't listen to these guys offering cookies, stock is special.
Welcome to FTE!
Since you are keeping it 6V, the wiring is pretty simple. I drew up wiring diagrams for each section of the system. I added a fuse panel and no wiring diagrams show turn signal wiring. If you need any just let me know.
I would also recommend the Master Parts Catalog it's a fantastic resource.
Be sure to take lots of pictures and share. Things are look great so far.
Once you get the basics, drive it around and your truck will tell you what it needs.
Always good to have another stocker among the crowd. There are some gas tank sealant solutions that may be worth considering, if yours isn't beyond hope. I'm with Ben - driving it is the best teacher for old iron.
