I bought the Mishimoto Hot/Cold kit. I wish I would have only got the cold side as I agree, the hot side does not see the problems of the cold side. I am not impressed with the Mishimoto kit, I thought it would be a much better fit. If the silicone hose on the cold side, down to the intercooler was about 1 inch longer on both ends, it could be positioned so it did not rub on the intercooler coolant connections. I had to really flex the hose even with its "bends" so it would not rub on that fitting. Power Steering reservoir was not an issue. The Mishimoto "hot" side requires clamps where they cannot be positioned to clear the trans/oil dipsticks easily. If you aim them to clear these, then you would have to remove to change the upper fuel filter.
I opened a support ticket with Mishimoto and their customer support is almost non-existent. It was almost 2 weeks to get a response from their support and all they could recommend was send them pictures of install, when I explained to them the issue of clamps on the "hot" side, they did not have any recommendations. At the end of the day, I think you are better off going with the "cold" side as that is where the blowoffs happen. Would I buy Mishimoto again? NOPE.
I just received a letter from Ford with the above title. This w/b for my 2012. After mine blew in July. I installed a Mishimoto and worked fine up until last fall. Now it comes off once a week. So I guess Ford had enough complaints they issued this. If there is a TSB, I am not aware of the number, but will find out when I take her in for a new CAC cold side. Has anyone else received a letter and if so, what year is your truck?

It must be fairly new. I did a search and couldn't find ANY info on it. Only recall numbers 18m01 and 18m02 which dealt with the Fiesta and Focus. Good luck.
I own a Ford Dealership. I have replaced a lot of the 2011-2016 cold air side pipes and a hand full of the hot side pipes. The cold side will aucally blow out in the center there the partial elbow is. The hot side will usually just come disconnected from the turbo because the fitting wears out or comes loose. Many times that I see the cold side blown I also find the secondary cooling system is empty from a leak. This feeds the CAC cooler and without coolant the air comes out hot and melts the plastic in on the cold side tube

Any of those leaks in the secondary in the same place or are they all over the system?

Thanx Jon, just spoke with my service manager and he said this part is a "C" variety which means there have been 2 previous models floating out there and now maybe this model will last longer. Have you seen the customer satisfaction program 18M03? Has anyone to your knowledge gotten reimbursed for an aftermarket CAC?
