I'm sure more guys will chime in here but I did just my cold pipe. From what I have read here, I don't think the hot pipe goes. I could be wrong but let's wait for responses.
I have not seen discussion on the hot side either but now I'm interested. I'm ok with stating if it has happened, it's a rare issue (stock) unlike the more infamous cold side.
The reason I don't think we see any comments much on the hot side is likely due to it being aluminum already. I don't see much to be gained other than appearance

I thought mine is plastic like the cold side. I'll have to check it out tomorrow.
Question , Is part No.6FF073 CC D4 the cold side hose? I had a hose blow today on a pull north bound I-15 from St. George, Utah. Made it to Cedar city where the Ford Dealership said the hose had split. Is this the M O for this hose? The dealership had me back on the road in a little over an hour. NO CHARGE as they said it was covered under my extended warranty. Is there a better replacement for this other than oem? I would hate to have this happen again when towing my fifth wheel on a long climb. Any suggestions would be considered.
As with most, they have replaced the stock CAC tube with aftermarket. Rudy makes one that is lower half silicone for approx $100 on eBay. Here is a two metal part tube for less than $100.

Have a read here, more information on this issue than you care to read. The thread is title incorrectly it is the cold side tube that is discussed in that thread.
Larry and Dirthawg, Thanks for your replies on this. What an eye opener. I will be checking out all the info that was given on this as I really do not want to have this happen again.
here is a link to where I wrote up the install of the two metal tube CAC on my truck. I think if you went with the one metal tube, it might go a little quicker.
a listing on eBay has the one metal tube with lower half silicone for less than $60. No, I am not associated with them or Rudy's. I am in favor of saving coins and improving longevity.
It's great for new buyers to see how much these kits have gone down. My Rudy's kit was about $150 if I remember correctly. It looks like that one EBay kit has 4 ply couplers instead of 5 that my Rudy's kit came with.
