Got one about to irritate me to death. Falls downward constantly sunny or not. Anybody have a fix? I tried searching and didn't come up with anything but I feel for certain I'm not the first to have this issue. Hard to guess the words to search???
I've considered stabbing toothpicks in the hole or spraying something tacky in there. Just wondering if there was a consensus to a good easy fix.
Remove 3 screws holding visor to inside of cab.
Remove visor from metal rod.
Bend metal rod to create resistance against visor when positioned up or down, but still straight enough to not be noticeable.
Install visor on metal rod.
Install visor to inside of cab with 3 screws.
My passenger visor falls down as well. I was also considering applying some adhesive (tacky) spray inside the rod area, just as Beartracks suggested and or some how stuff a piece of cloth inside the rod area. I've already replaced the center rubber ends (caps) and that didn't help.
I've had this problem on a couple of Ford visors. As mentioned above, I removed the visor from the truck, then removed the visor from the Rod. I then used a vise or vise grip and even a piece of wood and a light hammering to close/ tighten the C clips inside of the visor. Be careful here not to scratch up the visor, but it needs some force to close the inner metal clip. The simply reinstall the visor rod. It should be nice and snug again.
Clear RTV or similar - put a small amount on a #1 Phillips screwdriver shaft and lightly coat the inside of the hole where the visor pin goes. Let dry, insert the pin. Lasts years and does not show, no need to bend the pin. If the first coat is too thin, try again.
