Tie Rod

The tie rod on my 54 is bent on one end and has a crack in it. Must have took one hell of a hit to bend it like that.

It is available in most of the catalogs that I have, but is pricey for just the tube.

I was planning on doing some scavenging in the local salvage yards for a possible replacement. To save me some time does anyone know which vehicles, if any, had similar length tie rods? You don't see any F100's in the lots around here.

Thanks in advance for any help!

You can do it the hard way. Measure it after you remove it and take one end with you to make sure the one you find that length has the same diameter and thread size as the old one.

You can get a new heavy duty one from John's F-Fun Hundreds for 50.00. I believe it is a solid rod instead of the wimpy hollow one that came stock. Here is the link.
