Forscan Programming

This is a question for one of the Forscan experts.

I now have the ELM327 cable and I have downloaded the Forscan program and extended license. I connected up to my truck today and on the display showing all the modules, my RCM module was not listed. The problem here is I cannot read the As Built Data. I have downloaded it from the Ford link projectSHO89 provided. I have a used replacement module that is the exact P/N match to the old one. So I want to install the module and get it working so I can get the truck safetied.

Now the questions. First is it as simple as:

1) Install the replacement module.
2) Read the codes from it.
3) Compare the data with the As Built Data I got from Ford.
4) Change any of the RCM hex code so that the code reads the same as the Ford code.
5) Write the program to the replacement module.

If that is not the correct way to do it can you tell me the correct method?

Thanks for any assistance anyone can provide.

It should be readable with an interface without the HS/MS switch when using FORScan. The RCM is on the HS bus. There is only one programmable parameter in the RCM and that is the seat belt reminder. You should be able to just load the AB data for that module and not programming it.

Why it doesn't show I can't say. It is the old or new or both RCM modules do not show?
