Hello
i recently was given a 1978 crew cab with a 460
i have stripped it down to just the cab sitting on blocks, the frame and motor have been sold as it will be getting a 4x4 chassis and a 12valve cummins
the floor is almost completely gone and I’m wondering if anyone knows where I can find a full floor or if anyone has spec sheets for the floor so I can build a new one?
thanks
Tabco is OEM thickness but when I actually went to put my panels in I was not that happy with the fit/quality of my panels. DC has a good reputation for being good panels but they are not as thick. So it's a choice, OEM thickness but you'll need to manipulate the panels quite a bit (tabco) or great fit but slightly thinner (Denise Carpenter)
Also when searching for tabco type in tabco patch panels. It'll get you to their site quicker.
On my '79 bronco I bought all the panels I could from LMC, I had to make the rest, my bronco was pretty much missing the whole floor. I'm still not done, about 85% I'd say. I used a later model truck bed for the rear of the bronco.

I got a front bedside patch panel from LMC and it was a Tabco. I haven't installed it yet, but it seems to be the correct thickness.
I also got floor pans from Rock Auto and they seem to be the correct thickness too. Tabco front bed side patch panel from LMC Primed and ready for seam sealer. RA floor pan.
Dennis Carpenter sheet metal is garbage. Everything else I've gotten from them is top notch, but their replacement panels are something like 24 gauge... don't use it. I've used Tabco, and as mentioned, they are MUCH higher quality. No replacement panel is a perfect fit, but I would rather bang a Tabco into shape that have flimsy metal any day of the week! Tabco is an independent company, but they do sell through companies like LMC. The problem there is that it's a crap-shoot. LMC will procure any part that is the cheapest for them to get at the time. You could order two of the same panel, and get one Tabco, and one thin piece of Chinese garbage.
