Good morning all,
I have searched and really don't have the time to search through 70K threads to find the answer. My father just purchased a 2017 SD Lariat with plenty of options but it does not have the remote start. Anyone add an aftermarket that they are happy with or does Ford offer something that would allow him to have a Ford fob? He really doesn't want to add another fob if he can help it. Thanks in advance.

Can't help you with the factory fob question but want to give a warning about the extra fob solution. Your father is correct in wanting to avoid that, we have the dealer installed "Ford" remote start in a ford car. All it requires is a double press to start the car. We have found the car running a couple times in the closed garage, who knows how many times it ran we don't know about. That button can easily get pressed twice when in your pocket. The factory fob requires the lock button pressed then the start button double pressed. Just something to keep in mind if you have to settle for the extra fob solution, it in my mind is unacceptably dangerous unless they changed it.

It the comments there are truck owners that say it works on the '17s as well.
I will be doing this to my truck and read all the comments to see what others were saying. I hope it works for you.

Well, I didn't look at it carefully enough. Shoot, that is much cheaper as well. Thanks for enlightening me!!!
Have a 12volt one on mine. Only complaint is that the 12 volts doesn’t turn on heat / ac or front defroster even if left on when truck turned off. My only complaint about it but engine is hot when get it so heat comes out as soon as key is turned

I think you need to rent their module for $85 to set up your control options in your settings screen.
Will let you tomorrow picking up 2018 SD and having the remote start added along with garage door opener as well. Using the OEM key fob that came with truck. Hope to pass on good news.
