I posted in another thread but thought I'd try this one too.
i have a '90 superduty with a 7.3 and the tranny was rebuilt a yr ago by a great shop and Dyno ran. I have had pretty much no problems except after I went to leave a property and I first had to jump the solenoid ( sometimes to start it you have to hold the key over and mover the shifter towards park quickly as I think the module on the column is bad) and when I went to leave I couldn't get the drive gear to shift out of first. But the other gears work if you select them. No flashing od light, only could I could get was a 67.
Fluid is full, clean and not burnt.also my speedo gear in the parking brake assembly on the tranny stoppps working over a week ago but ran and shifted fine.
Did I maybe break something in the column while trying to rock the shifter up to start it?
Sounds like your range sensor is out of adjustment. Set your e-brake and put the trans in N,then remove the sensor, line up these marks and install with the trans in the N position.
Right now I'm more worried about it not shifting out of 1st gear while it's in drive. And 2 gear works when you select it and first gear. But while in drive it stays in first and won't go to second or 3rd like it should.
