I have a 1995 F-250 and the intermittent function on my windshield wipers doesn't work all of the time. The wipers seem to work fine when they are in one of the two the non-intermittent positions (regular speed & high speed) but when I click through the different intermittent options, only a couple of them work but not consistently and some don't work at all. Sometimes I need to cycle through the different intermittent settings to get them to work at all. Can this be fixed by replacing the wiper motor assembly or is this a problem with the wiper handle/switch?
I believe your windshield wiper intermittent relay is failing. I think it is behind the glove box but wait for someone that knows for sure about the relay location. Sandy
Your wiper switch is oxidized, you can pop the plastic end off and remove the philips screw and the guts and try cleaning the contacts with either contact cleaner or rubbing alcohol on a q-tip. Don’t forget to apply a small amount of dielectric grease to the contacts for lubricant. You can also try bending the wiper contacts in the switch out a little bit to give it a bit more pressure. The other option is just to replace the multifunction switch.

The wiper control box is behind the glove box.
There are 3 relays in it, one for low/ high speed, one for run and the last one is the washer fluid relay.
If the low high relay fails you will either have only high speed or you will have all intermittent and low speed. If the run relay fails the wipers won’t move in any setting.
